About the Tax Cop
Patrice L. Berry, aka The Tax Cop, has been preparing tax returns for over 20 years and decided that at the end of March 2020, she would take that plunge and FINALLY do what she loves full time.
Now you may be asking yourself: What do you mean full time, what the heck was she doing with her time before now?
Patrice always ran her tax practice, but she did that while being employed as an Office of Inspector General Auditor (DoD and DoC) for 21 years; being a fitness instructor; wife, mother, and Girl Scout Troop leader. You can see why she had to let that Government Hustle go, LOL.
She received her Master of Science in Accounting and Taxation in 2011. She doesn't just prepare taxes, but she makes sure that each of her clients is educated about their current year's tax returns and assists them in planning for the upcoming tax years. She is an Enrolled Agent that owns an accounting and tax firm that provides tax preparation, planning, and resolution services for individuals and small businesses. She not only enjoys working with her clients, she truly loves all things Tax. She believes that once you become part of her tax family, you won't want to go anywhere else (now let's hug it out)!
Patrice's favorite thing to do is "Seek first to understand, then to be understood" (7 Habits of Highly Effective People), and you can usually find her reminding people that at her firm, the goal is to Help Us, Help You Help Yourself.
